1 - CHECK CURRENT BID PRICE
First of all you have to be registered to place bids or post materials. When you want to buy scrap, start with checking the current bid price for the scrap, as it is not sealed. When bidding, all bids are accepted, both below and above current bid price. There are cases when you buy scrap, that the value of scrap material is negative, meaning the seller may have to pay the buyer to accept the scrap. In this case, a minus sign will be set in front of the bid start price. As bids are placed, the bid amount will move towards zero and may cross over to a plus value. NOTE: Other bidders will be able to see the current highest bid price but never who placed the bid.
2 - CONSIDER AUTOBID
Consider autobidding. Auto Bidding means that the system will bid on your behalf up to your maximum limit (set by you). When you want to buy waste, but it will always bid the least amount possible to outbid other scrap buyers. Autobidding can save you time in the bidding process and is a convenient tool when you want to buy scrap online.
3 - ASK QUESTIONS
When you want to buy waste you might have some questions for the seller about their materials. To ask questions use the “question tab” on the listing page. All questions and answers will be posted on the website and be visible for other logged in users.
4 - A WINNER IS CHOSEN
Be aware that the seller can pick any bid as the winner. The highest bid does not necessarily win, as the seller can also take into consideration the reputation of the buyer, intended use, and destination. This is part of CSR, which we explain further in this video tutorial.
1 - DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION
You can decide to make your listing public or private when you want to buy scrap online. Describe the specifications of the scrap you want to buy, set conditions, and upload photos.
Also you can invite your existing business partners to bid on your listings. Just add their contact information under the listing specifications and they will receive an email when your listing goes live.
2 - WAIT FOR LISTING TIME TO END
You can choose whether your listing is limited or unlimited in time. A limited listing closes automatically at a time you set when creating the listing. An unlimited listing closes when you decide it is time to close it. In this case you have to log in and close the listing.
When the time for bidding ends, a list with bidder information will be available in your user dashboard.
3 - QUESTIONS
Sellers may contact you with questions about their materials you need. You will be directly notified about this by email and can answer the questions through your user dashboard. Note that all questions and answers will be posted on the website.
4 - CHOOSE A SELLER
Choose the seller of your choice. You do not necessarily have to choose the highest bid, or any at all, as your decision may also depend on reputation (Rating & Reviews and CSR), intended use, and destination. After the listing has ended, buyer information will no longer be available on the listing page.
